AI Yard Management System

A named space for every trailer, and a queue that calls drivers in without anyone working a radio.

Chockpoint yard management board showing zones, standing spots and the trailers occupying them

“Wait in the marked lane” is not an instruction anybody can follow or audit. Chockpoint gives each waiting trailer a named standing spot, held for it the same way a dock door is held.

Trailer positioning

Spots are real places with real constraints, and the system honours them:

  • A powered spot is kept for a trailer that needs to keep running, so a dry van does not take the last plug
  • A hazardous trailer may only stand in the area rated for it
  • One trailer per spot, enforced by the database rather than by convention

Yard movements

Every move is recorded: into a spot on arrival, out of it when a door frees, off site at check-out. When a door is released, the longest-waiting driver who can use it is promoted and their spot is freed in the same step, so the yard drains without anybody chasing it.

Congestion and waiting vehicles

The board shows how many trailers are standing, how long each has been waiting and which door kind they are queued for. That turns “the yard is full” into a number somebody can act on — usually by opening a door that has been sitting idle.

Multi-site by design

Spots, doors, staff and clocks all belong to a facility. Two warehouses can hold the same spot code without colliding, and a pass booked at one site will not open a door at another.
