Digital Gate Management & Driver Check-In

The driver holds up the QR code from their booking. The system reads it, checks the booking is real, current and at this site, and answers with a door number big enough to read from a cab.

Appointment validation

A scan is checked before anything is reserved. A cancelled booking, a pass for another warehouse or an arrival hours before the window each produce a specific answer rather than a generic refusal — and each is written to the gate log, so a driver turned away is recorded rather than forgotten.

Driver check-in

Drivers have no account. They prove possession of the pass and knowledge of the number on the booking, which is what they already carry when they pull up. The device is what the gate trusts: each kiosk or handheld is enrolled once and can be revoked from the gate house at any time.

Inspections that hold the trailer

A gate inspection on the way in and a departure inspection at the door, with the questions varying by trailer — a sealed inbound is asked about its seal, an empty outbound about its floor and odour, a tanker about its washout certificate.

• Every line has to be answered; a blank is not a pass
• A defect has to be described, because the word alone tells the next person nothing
• A critical defect at the gate refuses entry and gives the door back to somebody who can use it

A log of what actually happened

Every scan, inspection, weighing and refusal is recorded against the appointment, with the person and the device that did it.
